I invite you to pray this prayer in 2025. The title is known, “The Knots Prayer”, but the author is not.
Dear God:
Please untie the knots that are in my mind, my heart and my life.
Remove the Have Nots, the Can Nots, and the Do Nots that I have in my mind.
Erase the Will Nots, the May Nots, and the Might Nots that may find a home in my heart.
Release me from the Could Nots, the Would Nots, and the Should Nots that obstruct my life.
And most of all, dear God, I ask that you remove from my mind, my heart and my life all of the Am Nots that I have allowed to hold me back, especially the thought that I am not good enough.

It is tempting to get caught up in what we Cannot do. But we can do All things through Christ who gives us strength (Philippians 4:13). The Apostle Paul declares in 2 Corinthians 2:14, “But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him.” Paul asks us (Romans 8:31, 37), “What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?...No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.”
If Satan cannot get you to turn away from Jesus, he at least wants you to wallow in negative thoughts, self-pity, discouragement, and defeat. Jesus declared that Satan had come to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). He is known as our Accuser (Revelation 12:10), and he is very good at what he does. He will whisper lies to you or heap negative self-talk on you that you will sadly listen to over and over. When someone speaks evil of you, he will manipulate you to hold that in your heart.
But do not listen to the devil’s lies anymore! You have been set free from his power and dominion by the authority of Jesus Christ. He bought you with His precious blood that was shed upon Calvary’s cross. He has not only forgiven you of your sin, He has made you a new creation in Him and adopted you into His forever family (2 Corinthians 5:17; Ephesians 1:5). “The old has gone; the new has come.” Live in the victory Christ has given you!

The funeral service for John Kaiko, father of our own Jhannia Kaiko, will be held this weekend here at Honolulu Assembly of God. The wake will last from Friday morning until Saturday afternoon, but the formal service will be on Friday at 9:00am. You are invited to attend and support the family during this difficult time.
On Sunday, February 2, everyone is invited to stay after the service for an “ono-licious” Lunch in the Fellowship Hall. (No need to bring anything for the meal; everything will be provided.) After the lunch, all members are invited and encouraged to stay for the Annual Meeting of the congregation as we rejoice in the Lord’s faithfulness in 2024. Please don’t miss it!
